Spinal Cord Awareness Installation

The Wings for Life information and event tool was developed to raise awareness about spinal cord injuries and the challenges faced by individuals with paralysis. The project features an oversized model of a spine, replicating the typical S-shaped curve seen in spinal cord injuries. Interactive lighting simulates the impulses that occur during paralysis, offering a moving visual representation of the condition. The design is based on a hand-drawn sketch and utilizes lightweight materials, such as aluminum honeycomb panels, to create a structure that is both durable and easy to transport. This project not only serves as an educational tool but also as a powerful visual statement on the importance of spinal cord injury research.
